Yesterday was such a refreshing day. We started out the day with a visit to another project: 512. Beatrice’s husband, Pastor Amos, is the pastor there. Beatrice is a Compassion staff person who writes our letters from project 511). Pastor Amos told us a lot about the project there and showed us around amidst the pouring rain!
In the afternoon, we went to Kigungu to play with all of the HDCC sponsored children! We played duck duck goose, the cat and the rat, bubbles, handed out pop rocks, and relaxed with our children. We also spent the day giving out the sponsored gifts to the children who had one. We wanted to make sure each child got something so we handed out matchbox cars and candies to those that didn’t have a gift.
In the evening, we went to Pastor Fred and Margaret’s home in Entebbe. It had rained so much that our bus got stuck! Omar, our driver for the week, has truly been with us almost the entire week. He’s been so amazing to us-he got the bus unstuck successfully and was ready for us when we finished dinner.
They were so kind to welcome all twelve of us into their home. We were each able to thank them for the week, the partnership with their project and church, and for allowing us to come and be a part of what God is doing in Kigungu.
This trip has been so incredible. In between sick teammates, homesickness, and a very busy schedule…God is still glorified and we are thankful that He would use us despite ourselves.
We had to say goodbye to Jackie last night but we will remember her always! She is such a kind and compassionate woman and we know God has been using her in big ways
